Black/Gold Bamboo Forest Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan, 13.5" x 44" #4699

The clouds' outlines are sashiko-inspired, and some have gold dots as they hide the bamboo and flower gardens. The base silk has a jacquard of clusters of small chrysanthemums, which you can barely see in the dark black background. The outlines and 'sashiko' are soft gold with a subtle hint of sheen. The true black is rich and dark.  What a beautiful print. This silk is thin, light, flowy, supple, soft and drapey, and in excellent condition. These pieces were once part of a kimono. 100% Silk. Japan.
