Traditional Floral Habotai Jacquard Lining Silk by the Yard
Lush, bright floral with large chrysanthemums, fans, 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which were used in an ancient shell matching game), and 'kicho', which is a partition used by noble people in ancient days. The base jacquard is a subtle pattern of large flying cranes. Thin and a bit crisp, with a slight sheen. This silk seems quite old and is absolutely radiantly gorgeous. This silk was woven to become a kimono or hoari lining. Japan.
