Terra Cotta Ikat Shapes/Symbols, Vintage Japanese Silk Tsumugi by the Yard
Ultra soft silk is a bit on the heavy side, but still not thick; the Japanese/Southwest colors are wonderful together: Muted red clay created from burgundy and off-white fibers, plus black. Some of the darker red comes through, too. In some lights it seems coppery. The weave is complex and slubby, with soft ikat black 'windows' and Japanese flying bird symbols. Pure vintage silk from Japan in beautiful condition, this is a gorgeous high-end Tsumugi. It has some body and a bit of drape, and is the same front and back. No shine; very soft and dry. Lots of texture from the different thicknesses of silk in the weave. Would tailor well; great for apparel, accessories, pillows and other home uses.
14.5" wide. Sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in one piece from the bolt. If you're first to order, you'll get the old labels, too.
