SALE Green Ochre Checkerboard Handweave Vintage Kimono Silk By the Yard, #489
Chunky, unusual and slubby, crosswoven beauty. The green starts bright but is combined with red which seems to add brown tones, and the ochre is a changeable mix of red, green and gold. Each 1-5/8" x 2" rectangle is an intriguing little weaving study. This expertly woven silk is on the heavy side, soft and textured, with body. It's a bit crisp and not shiny at all - this handwoven raw silk is like a slubby silk Tsumugi. Both sides are just the same, and one selvedge has a skinny edge of bright red, the other a skinny edge of bright green. Fabulous. 14" wide and sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in one piece to your order, from the vintage, perfect condition, never-used bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
