Vintage Japanese kimono silk in several blues, grays, light greens, brown and orange, all soft and muted...they were created to look faded . The print feels like an antique watercolor. The orange in the tropical flowers adds contrast to the many blues, some blending into one another. This vintage silk is a chirimen crepe weave, one of our favorites, with quite a strong pebbly, grainy texture, some drape but also some body. Lightweight, flowy and supple with a dry hand and no shine at all. The back side is quite blurry and muted. These pieces were once part of a kimono and are in beautiful condition. The print looks old but it's intentional; the fabric is in excellent condition. 100% Silk. Japan.
