Black and white combine in this beautiful, rustic yet elegant, slubby vintage kimono silk ikat from Japan. Wheels are spaced about 5-6" apart throughout the bolt. The front wheel is more black than the shadow wheel behind it. Front and back of this silk look just the same. Pure handwoven Tsumugi silk, thin, lightweight but strong, very tightly woven, a bit crispy, with the slightest hint of shine and a quiet rustle like many of the finest Tsumugis have. It's woven with a dark purple thread in the selvedge. 14" wide and one yard long including the fringe and label. 100% Silk. Japan.
