The small birds, fans, flowers and symbols are darker purple against the solid purple background, and they don't show at all on the other side of this silk. Silk crepe with liquid drape is lightweight, flowy, supple and soft, with a wonderful suede-like texture, and no shine. You could just use the solid side if you want; it's lovely as well. 14" wide and sold by the full yard - we'll cut yours in one piece to your order, from the never-used, vintage bolt. 100% Silk. Two embroidered metallic family crests are in this bolt, one in the second yard and one about 8 yards in. They're about 3/4" round and close to the selvedge so hopefully you can work around them. See the last photo.
We found a few faint, slightly dark, thin lines running across the width that may be dyeing flaws. They're so faint the camera didn't catch them, but in certain lights, if you look closely they may be visible. Many people wouldn't notice them at all. We're not sure if they will come out with dry cleaning. Most of this fabric is in excellent condition, luckily.
