Leaf Song Satin + Gold Vintage Kimono Silk 14" x 61" #4316

Tiny flecks, grains, bits and splashes of green seem to be underneath ribbons of real gold, with leaves and flowers, and white plum blossoms. The base is true white, and the gold is clearly real gold painted by hand on to the supple, unbelievably soft silk. The ribbons sometimes turn to show their reverse side, as they bend and float among the leaves. Very drapey, lightweight, fine silk with a subtle satin glisten on the front. The back is mostly white; the print barely shows. High end silk in pristine condition, may actually be a Tango chirimen; it's that smooth, soft and beautifully printed. Its former life was as a kimono. Japan.
