Indigo/White Double Ikat Geometric Tortoise Shell Weave, Vintage Kimono Silk by the Yard
Indigo and white with overlapping six-sided images of "kikko" or tortoise shells. Each tortoise shell is about 1-1/4" across and 1-1/2" high. They overlap one another in a perfect geometric pattern. What masterful weaving! The silk is soft, a bit slubby, not drapey, and a little crispy. The blue is deep indigo. It's a traditional Tsumugi weave in beautiful condition from Japan. A true ikat, the front and back are the same.
The fabric selvedge to selvedge is 14.5" wide. The kikko pattern is 13.5" wide. Sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the unused bolt. If you're first, you'll get the lovely labels, border and fringe at the end. Pure silk from Japan.
