Ikat rectangles positioned geometrically on dark indigo/navy color background, and each rectangle has a small ikat shape inside, in T-shapes that often seem like clock hands. The rectangles are turquoise, green, gold and orange. This silk is a little heavier and thicker than most of the more flowy kimono silks, but still only weighs 2 ounces per 14" wide yard. The surface is very soft, fairly smooth, with no shine and a lightly slubbed texture. Both sides look the same on this true ikat. Our guess is that it's a handwoven Tsumugi, hand dyed with indigo. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the excellent condition, never used, vintage bolt. 100% Silk, Japan. The labels and fringe have sold but the photo is there for your reference. This is clearly a special silk. Much better than the photos - the camera struggled with all the colors and textures.
