Gray/Blue/Pink/Black Ikat, Vintage Kimono Wool by the Yard from Japan #742
Thin and light for wool, a bit heavier than silk, a traditional weight for cool-weather kimono in Japan. The ikat shapes are pale blue and classic pink, in long rows through the bolt, pink, then light blue, then pink...etc. In between there are thin slashes of two or three white, blue or prink streaks, and crosswise black streaks. The background is a lovely cool charcoal gray, more towards cool than warm. The back looks just the same. This wool has a bit of body and a typical wool feel; more coarse than soft. Great color combination. Stunning. 14" wide, sold by the full yard, and we'll cut yours in one continuous piece from the excellent condition vintage bolt. 100% Wool. Japan.
