Drapey Eggplant/White Faux Patchwork Crepe, Vintage Kimono Silk Print from Japan, 7" x 61" Piece #4653

Very dark purple with white. The print is an artistic take on traditional Japanese faux patchwork, with many tiny dots and true shibori on the white squares inside dotty hexagons. Thin, light, flowy, supple and drapey, with a light crepe texture. On the back, the white shibori squares show up and the rest of the print is barely there. These pieces were, decades ago, parts of a kimono. The kimono was recently taken apart stitch by stitch for us, and the pieces cleaned and pressed, ready for you to re-use as you wish. This exact print will never be available again - as with most kimono silks, the artisan weavers only made enough for one kimono. Excellent condition. 100% Silk. Japan. Liquid drape.
