Chile Waves and Grasses Vintage Kimono Silk/Wool from Japan, By the Yard #732
Brick/muted rust/paprika, not screaming bright but very alive. It's woven with a peach tone, a rust tone and a deep orange, and the background is like faile, with tiny crosswise ribs created in the weave, some shiny and some not. The maple and other leaves, flowers, waves, grasses and symbols are shinier on one side, more matte on the other, and both sides are beautiful. It feels much like rayon; soft with a subtle sheen. The blend is 49% Silk, 50% Wool, 1% Nylon. To us it feels like more silk. Thin, light, supple, smooth, soft and a bit drapey but also with a bit of body, It's an excellent condition, never used vintage bolt. There is no gray, no fading, no neon bright orange red; the color is smooth and consistent but the camera sometimes hiccups when there are several different fibers together. 14" wide, sold by the full yard, and we'll cut yours in one continuous piece from the bolt. Japan.
