Hand-painted and translucent, 1-5/8" diameter, slightly domed, and about 3/8" thick with the shank. Shank opening is around 2mm. Limited Supply.
These 'Lacy Glass' buttons are created using Susan Clarke's unique hand-painting technique on Czech Glass buttons. She uses special types of paint in layers of color on the backs, and lighter on the edges, in such a way that, from the front, light reflects back through the colors. It was a technique used in the 1800's by the Czech Republic but even by the 1900's was rarely done even in Czechoslovakia. She has revived and improved upon the nearly-lost Czech tradition and uses specialty paints and her own techniques. She hand paints each one individually, even the tiniest, most intricate details.
