Playful Indigo Sashiko & Shibori Vintage Kimono Silk 6" x39" #4676
This print features faux sashiko and shibori leaves but all of the flowers are true shibori. I'm not sure I've ever seen Japanese silk where some shibori is real and some is printed, and most people probably wouldn't notice the difference. But I was curious and it's clear the flowers have needle holes and classic shibori crinkles, and the leaves are flat with no holes. This silk has a unique alive spirit; we love it. The background color is dark indigo, a bit darker than the photos, and the colors are all bright. The light blue flowers and leaves are actually a bit darker and towards teal. This silk is lightweight, thin, supple, flowy, soft and drapey, with no shine. A base jacquard adding interest to the background. It's in perfect condition from its former life as part of a kimono. 100% Silk. Japan.
